Oxygases, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – is an importer and supplier of refrigerant gases under the brand “OxyGases” to HVACR industry, Mobile Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning market. They offer a wide range of products like fluorocarbon refrigerants including CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, & HFO. Also supplies environmentally friendly natural refrigerants.
“Oxygases” brand refrigerants are well known in the HVAC market for their better performance, lower global warming potential, and reduced environmental impact.
Since innovation during the 1830s, Ether, CO2, Ammonia, and Sulphur Dioxide were part of the “First Generation” of refrigerants.
“Second Generation” during the 1930s saw the introduction of H2O, NH3, Hydrocarbons, etc., followed by CFC and HCFC.
“Third Generation” introduced in the 1950s with improved versions of HFC, HCFC, CO2, H2O, and NH3. Soon after, in 1987, the “Montreal Protocol” to safeguard the ozone layer was implemented.
“Kyoto Protocol” was an international treaty that extended the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, committing state parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, based on scientific consensus that global warming is occurring and that human-made CO2 emissions are driving it.
“Fourth Generation”, introduced in 2010, observed a massive change in the refrigeration industry with the introduction of HFOs along with improved HCs, HFCs, CO2, and Ammonia.
Extensive research continues in this domain, with the goal of achieving lower ozone depletion.
CFCs refer to the chemical composition of the refrigerant. Chloro Fluoro Carbon indicates the content as Chlorine, Fluorine, and Carbon. Any blend of refrigerant with CFC as content is considered a CFC refrigerant.
Examples: R11 | R12 | R500 | R502
HFCs are the chemical composition of the refrigerant, namely Hydro Fluoro Carbon. It consists of Hydrogen, Fluorine, and Carbon. Any blend that contains HFC is addressed as HFCs.
Examples: R23 | R32 | R134a | R404A | R407a | R407c | R407f | R410a | R417c | R422B | R422D | R507 | R508B
Known as Hydro Chloro Fluoro Carbon, it contains Hydrogen, Chlorine, Fluorine, and Carbon. A blend that contains HFCs and HCFCs is considered an HCFC refrigerant.
Examples: R22 | R123 | R124 | R401A | R401B | R402A | R402B | R403B | R408A | R409A
HFO refers to the chemical composition of Hydro Fluoro Olefin. It contains Hydrogen, Fluorine, and Carbon, with at least one unsaturated double bond between two carbons (olefin structure). A blend of HFO with another type of refrigerant is typically combined with a slash (Example: HFC / HFO).
Examples: R1233zd | R1234ze | R1234yf | R448A | R513A | R449A | R450A | R452A
Hydrocarbons are naturally occurring chemicals made only from Hydrogen and Carbon. A blend of hydrocarbon with any other type of refrigerant would be considered the other type of refrigerant (CFC, HFC, HCFC, or HFO).
Examples: R717 (Ammonia) | R744 (CO2) | R1270 (Propylene) | R290 (Propane) | R600a (Isobutane)
(1, 1, 1, 2 - Tetra Fluoro Ethane)
Widely used in household appliances by manufacturers. Small self-contained refrigeration units, very large chillers, and automotive air conditioning. It is also being used as the heat transfer fluid in secondary loop systems. R134a is a component in many refrigerant blends on the market, including the new lower GWP blends.

(Chloro Di Fluoro Methane)
Predominantly used in residential and commercial installed systems. Used in very large centrifugal chillers for industrial process cooling. R22 cannot be used in new equipment at manufacturing level, but can be used to service existing systems. It is widely used since the phase-out of CFCs as refrigerant as well as in blends.

(1, 1, 1 - TrifluroEthane HFC-143a)
(1, 1, 1, 2 - TetrafluroEthane HFC-134a)
Widely used in low and medium temperature refrigeration. This blend is used in commercial and industrial low/medium temperature refrigeration. R-507 can also be used if any system is specified for R404a. POE lubricant is required.

R407c has properties similar to R22 in air conditioning and in medium temperature refrigeration. Operating pressure / temperature in the evaporator, run time capacity, and flow characteristics through tubing and valves make this blend the closest property match to R-22 for retrofitting at AC conditions.

R410a is used in new air conditioning and heat pump equipment. The components nearly form an azeotrope, which means it has extremely low temperature glide and almost no fractional potential.
Oxygases R410a has 60% higher pressure than R22 in air conditioning applications, and is only allowed to be used in new equipment specifically designed to handle high pressure.
Systems designed for R410a will have smaller heat exchangers, compressors, etc., to perform the same cooling job compared to R22. POE lubricant required.

A retrofit blend that is designed to match R22 refrigeration applications. There is a reduction in capacity which would result in longer run times. There may also be excessive pressure drop in long piping runs which may limit capacity further. The hydrocarbon component in R422D helps promote oil return in systems containing mineral oil or alkyl benzene.
